چکیده
Introduction: Infections from gram negative bacilli is a challenge for clinicians and laboratory personnel. Treatment of these infections remained as an area concern. Both fluroquinolones cephalosporins are most common choice antibiotics. Despite Cephalosporins, being drug they expensive also showed many adverse reactions. This study, compares reevaluates the susceptibility bacteria to (ciprofloxacin) compared cephalosporins. Method: Various samples(pus, sputum, urine, blood bodyfluids) were processed according standard protocols. Antibiotic done by using Kirby-baur disc diffusion method. ESBL Amp C producers identified CLSI guidelines. Result: Among 400 isolates, majority pus followed sputum. The organism isolated was Klebsiella spp, (33.25%) Escherichia coli (29.5%), Pseudomonas spp (27.25%), Enterobacter (6.25%), Citrobacter 5 (1.25%), Acinetobacter (2.5%). Isolates 20-80% ciprofloxacin, 30-60% third fourth generation 64% 31% ciprofloxacin. 30% cefipime 20% 34 isolates 18 AmpC producers, which 15(44%) 7(38%) ciprofloxacin susceptible. Conclusion: Ciprofloxacin found be more effective than cephalosporin (cefepime) against bacilli. can considered treatment it active cost when Keywords: Fluroquinolones, Multidrug resistant, ESBL,

Bactericidal activity of ciprofloxacin against amikacin- and cefotaxime-resistant gram-negative bacilli and methicillin-resistant staphylococci.
The MICs and MBCs of ciprofloxacin were determined for clinical isolates of antibiotic-resistant aerobic bacteria. Decreased susceptibility to ciprofloxacin of cefotaxime- and amikacin-resistant Serratia marcescens and amikacin-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains were noted. The data suggest that ciprofloxacin susceptibility should be carefully monitored in treating patients with hospital-...

The in vitro activities of four new beta-lactam antimicrobial agents (moxalactam, cefotaxime, cefoperazone, and piperacillin) and the aminoglycosides against 744 recent clinical isolates of facultative gram-negative bacilli were compared simultaneously by the agar dilution method. The major in vitro difference of these newer beta-lactam compounds appeared to be their antipseudomonal activity; c...

The in vitro activities of two new beta-lactam antibiotics, moxalactam disodium (LY 127935) and cefotaxime (HR-756), were compared with cefoxitin, cefamandole, cefuroxime, cephalothin, and, in some instances, carbenicillin, gentamicin, and amikacin against aerobic gram-negative bacilli. Test isolates included normally cephalosporin-resistant members of the Enterobacteriaceae and Pseudomonas spp...
متن کاملActivity of cefepime against ceftazidime- and cefotaxime-resistant gram-negative bacteria and its relationship to beta-lactamase levels.
One hundred clinical isolates resistant to ceftazidime and/or cefotaxime were examined for susceptibility to cefepime. The most frequently encountered ceftazidime-cefotaxime-resistant strains belonged to the genera Enterobacter, Pseudomonas, and Citrobacter. Among these strains, 92% were resistant to cefoperazone, 91% were resistant to cefotaxime, 84% were resistant to ceftazidime, and 6% were ...
